What should I avoid?AVOID CERTAIN ACTIVITIES & DON'T USE SOAPS OR CREAMS Pools, jacuzzis, tanning, excess sweating, facials, and saunas should be avoided for a period of at least 10 days or until brows\ area is fully healed. Skin creams and products containing Retin-A, AHA, or any kind of skin peel must not be used directly on the brow area as they will fade and possibly distort your brows. Sun blocks should always be applied to the healed brow area (SPF 60 recommended) when staying out in the sun for an extended period of time. When washing your face, refrain from using soaps and creams on the brow areas. When showering or bathing, avoid putting your face directly under the shower stream.
-
Does it hurt? Most clients experience discomfort rather than pain at the beginning of the procedure. Topical anesthesia is used after the outline of the brows have been tattooed. Most clients do not feel pain after anesthesia has been applied. After the procedure, some redness and slight swelling in the area is normal.
-
Will I need a touch-up?Yes, the second session takes place 6-8 weeks after the initial session. This allows us to make small adjustments to the brows if needed. This session will take approximately 1.5-2 hours to complete. Do not be alarmed by fading after the first application. The second appointment is to penetrate and lock the color into the dermal layer of the skin.
-
How long does it take to heal? The eyebrow area may be slightly red after the procedure and color will appear very dark and obvious. This is normal for the procedure and part of the healing process. The eyebrows will lighten up in color as they heal. The color will fade as much as 30-40% during healing. In the following days, the eyebrows will continue to be dark and you will notice slight scabbing. DO NOT peel or pick at the scabs as this can affect the outcome and you may be unknowingly removing pigment. No down time is required after your procedure. It takes approximately 7-14 days for the brows to heal over, and about 1 month for the color to fully set in.
